Pineapples + Grace

THE BIG IDEA

About a year and a half ago, my best friend texted me with an idea. Little did we know it would turn into a movement.

What turned into a big idea was initially inspired by a simple moment; Emily had been at the mall when she saw another girl and she really liked her outfit. She decided to compliment this girl and her face absolutely lit up! That’s when Emily started thinking…what if we built some kind of platform that made others feel good about themselves? That would be so empowering!

After months of brainstorming and planning, Pineapples + Grace was born. We announced our presence to the world on National Pineapple Day (it was only fitting) last year and immediately began seeing the difference this little idea was making in the hearts of others.

WHY PINEAPPLES?

Pineapples are a symbol of welcoming and acceptance. After a lot of discussion and brainstorming, we realized that these attributes are what we want the heart of our blog to be. Plus, who doesn’t love pineapples?!

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

We started Pineapples + Grace with two main intentions:

  • Bring more awareness to important issues (mental illness, rape, homelessness, etc.)
  • Show more kindness and love in the world

You’ll read true stories on our blog and social media pages, that are not talked about often. Some of it is heavy stuff, and we’re proud of that. It takes courage to talk about the hard times you’ve experienced, especially when they’re experiences like addictions, eating disorders, or infertility.

We forget that there are so many others who have been through similar situations as we have. We just don’t think about it because no one likes to talk about it. But, when we talk about it we create awareness and offer a space for each other to feel less alone.

WHERE WE’RE GOING

My heart feels like it’s about to burst every time I think about the possibilities for Pineapples + Grace, and where God is leading us. Both Emily and I strongly feel that God has called us to run this blog, and that He has big plans in store for it.

This year feels big to me. I’ve had this feeling in my gut for the past few months that 2018 will be big, in very good ways. I’m so excited to see how.

We have dreams to start a podcast once we’ve built up our blog more. And, we want to begin sending out ‘Blessing Boxes’ to brighten up other’s days. Those are just a couple of our plans for this year.

HOW YOU CAN BE A PART OF IT

There are definitely ways you can help us make a difference. And, we’d love if you did!

  • You can share your stories. We’re always looking for contributors who are willing to share their life experiences with our readers. You have no idea how big of a difference it makes.

  • Become a patreonYou can support Pineapples + Grace for as little as $1/month (seriously!) and you’ll be making a HUGE difference. We have so much planned for this year but we can’t do it without your help! Find out more about how you can help, and the difference you’ll be making by clicking here.
