When we got engaged last year, wedding planning brought on a whole new list of “necessities”. Of course there were the obvious ones like my dress, where our venue would be, and our date…but, there were so many small categories to suddenly consider too. One of those categories was my makeup routine for the day of. Up until that point, I had been using basic makeup products that worked for me, but I knew they didn’t look “professional” or “camera ready”.
Thankfully I had developed some connections with some incredibly talented makeup artists and upon asking them for their recommendations, they pointed me towards what are now some of my favorite beauty products!
I also have to give a huge shout out to Ipsy for introducing me to my favorite mascara and setting powder! I’m not being sponsored to say this, but they’re only $10/mo and you get so many fun products. I signed up for them after we got engaged because it was an inexpensive way to try out new products, and they’ve become one of my favorite surprises in the mail!
This foundation was an absolute game-changer! You don’t need to use a lot of it to cover your face, meaning that it lasts forever. I’ve had it for 8 months now and I’ve used less than half of the tube. It makes your skin look smooth and beautiful, and I love it.
I had never contoured in my life before I got engaged. People raved about it and the beauty gurus on my Instagram looked amazing with it, but I had no idea what to do with it. The Lorac Pro Contour Palette was recommended to me and I decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, I LOVE this kit! I had to watch the tutorial video on Lorac’s website (I was a total newbie to this contour game), but it was a pretty simple process and now it only takes me 1-2 minutes to do! Not to mention, it pairs so nicely with Dermacol.
This eyeliner has been in my makeup routine for the past five years. I don’t like crayons and I don’t like liquid eyeliners, so this is the perfect fit for me. Until I find something better, I plan to stick with Rimmel for my eyelids.
Ipsy sent this to me and it was another game-changer. I’d heard of setting spray but didn’t know that there was also setting powder, and I really didn’t know why it was so important. It’s so great because it glues everything together on your face so your makeup will last longer throughout the day. It is especially helpful if it’s humid out! And, it makes everything look “finished”. Your skin will look flawless.
This is my all-time favorite mascara!! I have never used a mascara that made my lashes pop so much. It makes them look thicker, longer, almost like you have on lash extensions! I am fully convinced that there is no better mascara out there.
That, in a nut-shell, is my entire makeup routine. It takes me less than 10 minutes to put on everything, and I feel like a Queen when I’m done. If you’re looking for products that will last you a long time, these are all good options for you!
